| Warehouse Supervisor WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR Location: Edmonton Weston Bakeries Limited and Ready Bake Foods Limited are internationally recognized producers of fresh and frozen bakery products, has an immediate opening for a Warehouse Supervisor reporting to the Alberta Warehouse Operations Manager in Calgary. This position will be responsible for providing leadership and accountability for the Edmonton warehouse operations and work on other Western Canada based warehouse and distribution projects. This position will require a decision-maker who is able to develop and focus team activities on key performance measures designed to deliver business results. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Lead a warehouse staff of approximately 10 employees. • Hiring and Scheduling of all team members. • Operations and Health & Safety orientation. • Provides training as required to ensure an effective and efficient team. • Manages facility operating budgets, including labour. • Lead productivity and cost management improvement initiatives. • Check throughout shift to ensure that proper methods and procedures are being used and that quality and safety standards are being met. • Co-ordinates and communicates with operations and transportation departments to manage inventory, inbound and outbound shipments. • Prepare reports to provide an accurate overview of activities, hours and exceptions for team members. • Ensure that a safe working environment is maintained at all times by enforcing Company standards and following up on regular inspections. QUALIFICATIONS: • Post Secondary degree or diploma in business or a related discipline is preferred. • Minimum 2 years progressive supervisory / management experience in warehouse operations. • Good organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in fast paced environment. • Must be a demonstrated decision-maker who easily interacts with others and is adept at leading and motivating a team. • Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. • Working knowledge of MS word, Excel and E-Mail, is required. Knowledge of Baan would be an asset. • Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives. • The successful candidate will apply their skills in a fast paced perishable DSD environment, and bring a proven track record of success in project implementation, cost management and resource optimization. Days and hours of work could fluctuate with operational demands. Some travel will be required for training and project work.
