Supermarket Meat Cutter

Supermarket meat cutter (Sobeys) (NOC: 6251)

Terms of Employment

Permanent, Full time, Weekend, Day.

Salary

$16.00 hourly, for 40.00 Hours per week, dental benefits, Life Insurance Benefits, Group Insurance benefits.

Skill requirements:

Education:

Completion of high school


Credentials (certificates, licenses, memberships, courses, etc):

Apprenticeship training.

Experience:

2 years to less than 3 years.

Languages:

Speak English, read English, write English

Work setting:

Grocery store

Type of Equipment:

Power grinder, slicing machine, band saw, manual cutting utensil

Specific skills:

Cut carcasses, sides and quarters, cut, trim and prepare standard cuts of meat, remove bones from meat, cut poultry into parts, clean and prepare fish and shellfish, grind meats, slice cooked meats, prepare special orders, prepare special displays of meats, poultry and fish products, shape, lace and tie roasts, other meats, poultry and seafood.

Additional skills:

Wrap and package prepared meats, weigh meats for sales, price meat products

Security and safety:

Bondable, basic security clearance

Work condition and Physical Capabilities:

Work under pressure, tight deadlines, fast spaced environment, combination of sitting, standing, walking, standing for extended periods of time, attention to detail, physically demanding, handling heavy loads, hand –eye coordination

Work site environment:

Cold / refrigerated
